Jazz Singer

Monica has achieved high-level success as a singer and entertainer around the country, regularly featuring at major Jazz festivals, corporate events, large council events and public shows.

She enjoyed monumental success with in the early 90's with "Monica and the Moochers'" critically acclaimed album releases "Too Darn Hot" and "Cotton On The Breeze". In 2003 she independently released, "Girl Talk", recorded by her 5 piece, "Monica Trapaga and the Bachelor Pad".

"SUGAR" is her latest cd release. It features her favourite collection of 1920s & 1930s tunes, performed by Australia's leading Jazz musicians, Bob Barnard, David Seidel, Peter Locke, Andrew Dickeson, Paul Furniss & David Blenkhorn, and is available through La Brava Music and MGM Distribution.

Monica's current bands include "Monica Trapaga & The Bachelor Pad" (5 piece lounge jazz), "Monica Trapaga & The Sugar Daddies" (7 piece Cotton Club jazz), "Monica and the Moochers" (8 Piece swing jazz), "Monica & The Mucho Mambo Orchestra" (14 piece traditional Cuban big band). She also appears as a guest performer with "John Morrison's Swing City" (big band), "The B# Big Band", "Ed Wilson's Big Band" and "The John Field Band", as well as other high profile artists including James Morrison and Judy Bailey.

She also has two cabaret shows available - "Monica Goes to Rehab" (2 piece) an hilarious take on the legends of song who made rehab cool, and "Diamonds & Pearl - A tribute to Pearl Bailey" (3 piece).

Monica's love of working with Orchestras has seen her work with most of our countries finest. Performances are generally angled toward a family event or as an introduction to toddlers and babies to orchestral music and instruments in cushion concerts or babies proms.
